Infinity Castle is the first chapter of Demon Slayer's ending, and it understands exactly what the story has always been about: not just killing demons, but understanding them. The film gives its villains — especially Akaza — full, tragic backstories, so that every fight feels like a collision between two people who both have something to lose. The structure is a series of duels, but each one is really a character story, and the film earns its tears honestly.
Acting — 9.0/10
The Japanese voice cast is extraordinary. Natsuki Hanae's Tanjiro carries the film's compassion, Akira Ishida's Akaza is heartbreaking, and Takahiro Sakurai's Giyu gets the film's quietest, most powerful moments. The English dub is also strong, but the original Japanese performances — especially in the emotional scenes — are on another level.

ufotable's animation is the best in the business, and Infinity Castle is their masterpiece. The castle itself — an endless maze of sliding doors and impossible geometry — is a character, and the fights are staged like operas: water, fire and lightning rendered with a beauty that makes you forget you are watching drawings. Haruo Sotozaki balances spectacle with stillness, letting the quiet scenes breathe before the next explosion of colour.
