Five years after the last film, dinosaurs are dying out in the modern world — except on one forbidden island, where the largest creatures still live. A covert team led by Zora Bennett is sent to collect DNA from three giant dinosaurs, but the island has other plans, including a creature no one has seen before.

The story is the film's weakest part, and it knows it: a team goes to an island, things go wrong, dinosaurs chase people. It is the Jurassic formula, polished but familiar, and the villains are thin. But the film is honest about what it is — a dinosaur adventure — and it never pretends to be more. The family stranded on the island adds real warmth, and their scenes give the film a heart the mission plot lacks.
Acting — 8.0/10
Scarlett Johansson is a strong, no-nonsense lead, and Mahershala Ali brings quiet gravity to a role that could have been generic. Jonathan Bailey is charming as the dinosaur expert who would rather study the creatures than run from them. The cast sells the danger well — you believe they are scared, which is half the job in a film like this.

Gareth Edwards is the right director for this material. He films the dinosaurs the way he filmed Godzilla: big, slow reveals, creatures emerging from mist and jungle, the camera low so you feel how enormous they are. The T. rex river sequence and the finale with the mutant Distortus rex are genuinely thrilling. The film looks like a proper blockbuster — real locations, real scale, and dinosaurs that feel heavy.

Alexandre Desplat's score is elegant and tense, and the classic John Williams theme appears exactly when it should. The music does a lot of the film's emotional work, especially in the quieter jungle scenes.
